Delhi
Capitals will be playing Kings XI Punjab on Sunday evening. Both teams have had
not been consistent with their performances in the popular tournament over the
years. Interestingly, neither team won the trophy even though both teams were in
the tournament since its inception in 2008.
In a
refreshing turn of events, Delhi Capitals will be led by Shreyas Iyer and KL
Rahul will captain the Kings. R. Ashwin recruitment bolstered the bowling
attack of Delhi Capitals and it is yet to be seen that the former captain of
Delhi, Rahana will be given a place in the team. Delhi’s expensive signing
Shimron Hetmyer’s involvement against Delhi is still up in the air after he was
bought by Delhi for Rs. 7.75 crore.
Kings XI
Punjab’s new coach has a plethora of established talents in the squad and bought
Glenn Maxwell in last year’s auction. Punjab bought the Australian veteran for
a whopping Rs. 10.75 crore.
