In an
unsurprising move, Disney Studios who own Marvel has decided to postpone Black
Widow film release date from November this year to May7th of next year. The film
starring Scarlett Johansson is a spin off from highly successful Marvel
Cinematic Universe. As of this moment, the final movie that bid adieu to
several major characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ‘Endgame’ sits atop
the list of highest grossing movies of all-time crossing behemoths like ‘Avatar’
and ‘Titanic’. Black Widow’s past had not been explained in the past MCU films
although a brief scene in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ showed how the hand to hand
combat master and saboteur assassin was recruited and trained at a young age by
an unknown Eastern European country, more probably during Soviet Era.
Major
Hollywood studios postponed and moved their tentpole summer films this year
amid coronavirus concerns. The experience of going to a theatre on a free day
with family or friends has become forbidden fruit. Audience who sit in a closed
space for no less than 2 hours will increase the odds of getting a coronavirus
infection even though proper social distancing rules were applied stringently.
In India,
theatres were yet to be opened and only a handful of countries with low
infection numbers opened theatres. Drive-in cinemas has seen a revival in
United States.
