The
production on widely publicised and highly awaited television show, “The Lord
of The Rings” has restarted production in New Zealand. Owing to the ongoing
pandemic, the production of the show along with several productions such as
James Cameron’s “Avatar” series was halted in March. Due to strict restrictions
in place, New Zealand was able to contain the virus and, restrictions were totally
lifted last week.

who previously directed several high-profile projects like “The Impossible”, “Jurassic
World: The Lost World directed the first two episodes of “The Lord of The Rings”
show. Peter Jackson had directed a trilogy based on the works of acclaimed and
revered English author, J. R. R. Tolkien. The trilogy had set new records at the
box office and won a record-breaking Academy awards over the period of three
years. Since their releases, the movies have had been by beloved by fans of the
book series and has adopted innumerable new fans into its fan base.

Tolkien authored the series with the first book in the series, “The Fellowship
of the Ring” released in summer of 1954. The sequels “The Two Towers” and “The
Return of the King” were published in winter of 1954 and 1955 respectively.
Since the publication, the series is considered as the one of the greatest
literary works in history and has gained a great number of fans around the
world. Set in middle-earth, the books follow the journey of an ordinary hobbit
called “Frodo” who was given the responsibility of disposing an all-powerful
ring. If the rings were to come into the possession of Sauron, the middle-earth
will be forever lost to the dark forces of Sauron and his follower Saruman who directs
a war against the middle-earth forces. The hobbits, Men, dwarves, elves and
wizards form a fellowship to perish the ring into the fires of Mordor. The ring
can only be destroyed in the fires of Mordor and if successfully destroyed can
cause Sauron to perish as well.
The tv show
is being developed by Patrick McKay and J. D. Payne for the OTT streaming
service Amazon Prime Video.
