Abu Dhabi: The
defending champions Mumbai Indians will lock horns with the underdogs Rajasthan
Royals this evening in Abu Dhabi. Coming into this match, Rajasthan Royals will
be looking to return to their winning ways after losing the last two matches
against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. Steve Smith led
Rajasthan started this year’s campaign with a promising start but the last two
losses have had put a dent in their fight for the title. Meanwhile, Mumbai
Indians have had complete opposite fortunes to Rajasthan Royals winning the
last two matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab. So far, both teams
have recorded 10 wins each in their previous meetings.
Rohit
Sharma, Kieran Pollard and Quinton de Rock will be vital in today’s match
against Rajasthan and if the top order delivers as predicted, Rajasthan will
have to work hard to beat Mumbai. As for the top order of Rajasthan, Sanju Samson
has been a sort of revelation for their fans with Tewatia and established Steve
Smith playing their roles comfortably. The match outcome will heavily depend on
how the top order bats during the first innings if either team chooses to bat
first and the middle order will have to bear a significant amount of work if either
team chooses to chase the target.
