New Delhi:
Directorate General of Civil Aviation has released a circular on Wednesday
stating that the international fights suspension is extended till October 31st.
All air travel, both domestic and international was suspended in late March
owing to the lockdown imposed by Indian government. In late May, Indian
government had permitted domestic air travel to resume though the occupancy
rate in domestic flights have sharply fallen since.
India has
reached an agreement with Kenya and Bhutan to restart air travel between the
countries. India has also reached air bubble agreements with several countries
namely, Germany, France, United Kingdom, the United States, Bhutan, Bahrain,
Kenya, Maldives, Nigeria, Japan, Iraq, Abu Dhabi and Qatar. The DGCA circular will
not affect the international cargo operations and DGCA approved carriers.
