Washington
DC: The incumbent president of the United States, Donald J. Trump has tested positive
for the coronavirus along with his wife Melania testing positive as well. This
comes on the heels of Hope Hicks; one of President Trump’s senior aides has
tested positive for the virus this week. The president and the first lady went
into self-quarantine after Hicks’s tested positive. On Friday, Donald Trump was
moved to Walter Reed Medical Centre in Bethesda, Maryland, aboard Marine One.
Donald Trump was seen waving to the reporters but did not speak to the press on
his way to embark the plane.
President
Trump will be closely monitored by the health officials at the military
hospital and will be able to execute his presidential duties from the hospital.
It was reported that the medical centre is equipped to enable the president
carry out his duties. In the United States, more than 2 million people have
died so far due to the coronavirus. Despite seeing a dip in new infections in
recent weeks, the mortality rate is still high in the country. On Tuesday
night, President Trump participated in the first election debate with
Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden in a highly controversial debate that
attracted criticism from all corners of press and public. President Trump and
Biden will lock horns for the coveted presidential position when voters go to
polls on November 3rd this year.
