As some parts in the world are slowly returning to a relative normalcy, India is still suffering as the 2nd worst hit country by coronavirus. Oxford Institute is in the process of developing a vaccine for covid-19 in conjunction with Serum Institute of India. CEO of Serum Institute of India, Adar Poonawalla posed a direct question to Indian government whether the government will be willing to spend 80,000 crores for vaccination to reach every Indian citizen.

In the last 24 hours, 88,600 new cases have been reported with 1,124 new deaths. This grim figure takes India 5,992,532 to the total tally of infections and 94, 534 people have died due to coronavirus in the country. United States America is still the worst hit country in the world but India boasts the second highest population in the country and there is a grave concern that India can sink even deeper into the coronavirus pit if the infection rate fails to plummet in the near future. In somewhat good news, India tops the global recovery charts.
