Hyderabad: The iconic dancer of
Kuchipudi, Sobha Naidu passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad. At the
time of her death, it was reported that she was undergoing a treatment. Sobha
Naidu had become famous for portraying several characters such as Padmavathi,
Sathyabhama, Sai Baba and Devadeviki. She received Padma Shree and several
other national and international accolades for her work. She had performed
throughout India and also in the United States and the United Kingdom. She also
trained countless number of students during her renowned career. Telangana
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao mourned the dancer’s death and expressed
condolences to her family. Sobha Naidu recently made a covid-19 awareness video.
Sobha Naidu hailed from
Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. She was born in 1956
and she learned her craft from the legendary Vempati Chinna Satyam.
