India has reaffirmed its “no first use” policy and “no use” against non-nuclear
countries on Sunday. The news came on the heels of India vying to control Line
of Control against Pakistan and Line of Actual Control against China. In June,
India lost its soldiers in a violent confrontation with China. Since, India has
further stocked the frontier with more weapons and has had been on a constant
stand-by to retaliate if China re-merges to confront India once again.

Vardhan Shringla during the meeting on the eve of the International Day for the
Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons reaffirmed India’s position on nuclear
weapons. He said that India is still fully committed to its policy of “no first
use” against the nuclear countries and “no use” against non-nuclear countries.
He also said that countries those who possess nuclear weapons must come to a
viable agreement and begin to reduce the nuclear weapons to reducing the
weapons to zero as its final aim.
