Liverpool: The 28-year old left-winger, Sadio Mane, who plays for English football club, Liverpool and the Senegalese National Football Team has tested positive for the coronavirus, the club has announced in a statement on Friday. Sadio Mane was highly involved in the recent successes of Liverpool in Premier League and on the European stage. Mane who primarily plays on the left-wing has been credited by his manager Jurgen Klopp as one of the most important players on the team. In recent years, Liverpool has had tasted success after three decades of not winning the English championship.

The Liverpudlians were ecstatic after their side won the premier league in late July. Sadio Mane along with his team-mates Mohammed Salah and Virgil van Dijk were instrumental in securing the English title and UEFA Champions League in the summer of 2019.

Mane posted on Instagram saying that he has been officially tested positive for the coronavirus and will be in a period of quarantine and has not been showing any heavy symptoms. He has urged the supporters to stay safe and follow the guidelines to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
