KCR PUTS OFFICIALS ON HIGH-ALERT AS HEAVY RAINFALLS LOOM


 


Hyderabad: The Meteorological Department has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several districts and areas in the state of Telangana. The isolated areas in the state are particularly vulnerable as well as the low-lying areas. Telangana has been experiencing heavy rainfall since Saturday and according to The Meteorological Department, the state should brace itself for more rainfall for the next two days. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has put Telangana government on high-alert after the heavy rainfall warnings. He instructed his Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to direct all District Collectors, Police Superintendents and Police Commissioners to be on high-alert to respond to the public needs, monitor potential flooding situations in several areas of the state and evacuate the people who were caught in the flooding should the need arise.

The Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar has instructed all the officials to remain vigilant and monitor the situation and respond quickly to the needs of public. Khammam, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Warangal districts are particularly vulnerable to flooding and the Chief Secretary has said that any loss of life and property should be avoided and take all necessary actions to ensure the same. The officials were instructed to follow the flood protocols and guidelines to a T and monitor some particular areas which are prone to heavy flooding, water logging and blocking of roads and highways. The Chief Minister has also requested the public to remain vigilant of the situation and contact the necessary authorities if they are in any distress and in need of assistance.
